you can never get help from strangers....

so for my hole summer ive been trying to overclock my computer and no mater what i did to tell people i'll do what ever takes just tell me a program to do it or give me my PLL ID i only got overclocking netbooks bad. WTF

so the most ive been able to do is overclock my graphics card and thats really so much overclocking since with GMA series graphics cards they have been underclocked to save power and make less heat. but when playing the sims 2 on my computer with it overclocked from 166MHz to 400MHz a 2.4x boost on max graphics the game loads 3x faster
and what seems kind off weird is that being overclocked it makes less heat playing the game when it seems like it would be the other way around... but then my explaination for that would be that since its overclocked it can work faster so there would less stress on it. also playing the game with it overclocked and at the set clock speed both times were with the cooling pad but having it overclocked lowers the temp 7 celsius on average. also the fps went up by 10

  1. Theres only so much you can get out of the system by standard software overclocking- The reason its not getting alot hotter is that the voltage is the same. You can tweak out a nice little fps boost by simply overclocking mem, core and shader speeds but to much and youll get artifacts (tearing in the picture), so despite you having low temps on your card you can still wreck it . To increase voltage you need to mod the bios, witch can permanently brick your computer if you dont know what you are doing:)
